Field of Vision, 2013

Lapis lazuli and other locally sourced stones
Created in collaboration with a lapidary in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan

Field of Vision is a jewelry collection inspired by the eye motifs painted across Afghanistan’s elaborately decorated jingle trucks. Drawing from the eye as a symbol of protection, Kühn translated the recurring motif into a series of wearable objects, developed in collaboration with a lapidary in Mazar-i-Sharif using locally sourced stones.

The collection was featured in Vogue and sold through Opening Ceremony.
